Capriotti’s was a painted logo mural created for the Capriotti’s Sandwich Shop in Charlotte, North Carolina. Executed as a dot-stencil mural on a brick wall, the piece features the shop’s name in white, keeping the design simple, bold, and well matched to the restaurant’s industrial interior.
While the mural itself is minimal, the execution called for precision. Painting clean typography onto textured brick meant focusing on clarity, consistency, and placement so the finished piece could function as both branding and atmosphere within the space.
Projects like this remind me that murals do not always need to be elaborate to be effective. Sometimes a wall simply needs the right statement in the right place, handled with care.
And yes, in addition to being paid for the commission, I was also tipped with a turkey sub — which remains one of the tastiest mural bonuses I’ve ever received.
