Murals by
Paragraph
Movement was created for Moveology in downtown Clayton, a business rooted in health, wellness, and support for active people. With Sam’s Branch Greenway and the Clayton River Walk on the Neuse woven into the life of the area, I wanted the mural to feel connected not only to Moveology’s mission, but to the broader rhythm of movement already present around it.
Using the river walk as the setting, I built the mural as a celebration of activity in many forms. Some of the figures — including a dog — were inspired by real people I filmed along the greenway. As I continued researching Clayton and the kinds of outdoor life connected to the area, I incorporated details like fishing and kayaking, allowing the mural to expand beyond exercise alone and into a fuller picture of how movement lives in this community.
The result is a wall alive with motion: people walking, riding, exploring, and engaging with the landscape around them. Rather than presenting fitness as something narrow or separate from daily life, I wanted the mural to feel open, energetic, and grounded in place — a reflection of movement not just as exercise, but as vitality, connection, and the many ways people inhabit the outdoors together.
